Math in English Class?

Good morning. Today you read Arithmetic by Carl Sandburg. Before you give any thoughts about the poem, I would like for you to complete a few moments of Internet research. Answer the following questions in paragraph format. You many want to type your paragraphs into a Word document and spell check prior to pasting into a comment.

2. Why do you think he is important to American culture?

1. Choose one sentence from the poem Arithmetic that you like.
2. Why do you like that sentence?
3. What do you think the sentence means?

Eastern European Cinderella Stories

Yesterday you read a version of Cinderella.

1st - Today, write a summary of that version in a comment. Be certain to include the type of text, title, and where the story is from. Use key phrases in your summary: In the beginning, in the middle, then, next, later, finally or ultimately.

2nd - Then write a response. Answer one of the following questions with 3-4 sentences: Did you like the story?, Did the story remind you of anything or anyone?, or Did the story make you think of something else?

3rd - Be certain to spell check and indent the first line of your paragraphs.

Monster

Steve was found not guilty of murder. However, he still had to spend time in jail with adults.
